Is there a way to go to "accessories" without starting the engine? I know that you can when turning off the engine

Try pressing the START button without your foot on the brake pedal. I tried it but it didn't display what I wanted to see.

I didn't know you could do it while turning off the engine. How?

Yep, basically all you see is the two sides if the dashboard theme.

That is certainly one feature of a "keyed" car that I miss. Especially when learning all of the features on a new vehicle.

Now I have to start the vehicle even to raise or lower the windows.

Not necessarily true. This is from the manual:

ACC/ACCESSORY (Amber
Indicator Light) : This mode allows
some electrical accessories to be
used when the engine is off.
With the ignition off, pressing the
button one time without the brake
pedal applied will place the ignition
system in ACC/ACCESSORY.
The ignition will switch from ACC/
ACCESSORY to OFF after
five minutes to prevent battery
rundown.

See above. Also, look in the manual starting at page 225.

Turning off the engine simply puts the car into Retained Accessory Power (RAP) mode.

Thanks to Speleos this is wrong. I read the manual pages that he suggested and starting on page 226 you can go into SERVICE MODE by pressing the START button for more than 5 seconds and it will display as if it was in ON/RUN mode.

Thanks Speleos.

I tried something this morning as my son was waiting for the school bus. I hit the start button without my foot on the brake. The screens lit up but not all of the options are accessible. You can access everything but the Info screens (MPG/Tire Pressure/Trip Mileage, etc...) you can still see the others (NAV, Radio, Phone) options. I will have to run the Service Mode next time.

Thanks. Hopefully that also works on my wife's SRX. Still trying to learn on that vehicle.

2018 Acadia. Got in with remote in pocket. No foot on brake. Hit start button. Then it allowed me to raise and lower windows. Hit start button again to return to full off mode.
