My wife's 2014 Acadia SLT2 has a strange AC issue. When she turns the blower motor makes a strange buzzing sound and the air from the vents cuts out. The motor runs fine normally. I removed it and there doesn't seem to be any issues with the blower motor itself.

Any idea what might cause this before I really tear into it and find out it's an easy fix?

Check for debris at the cabin filter inlet.

I did as best I could, couldn't feel anything floating around or loose. I'll check again when I get home just to make sure.

If you remove the motor and the cabin air filter, you should be able to get a good look at both sides of the "squirrel cage" fan. I just did a complete check up on my system and was able to see a few bits of debris in the fan housing. I also noticed my blend doors don't close all the way on the upper/lower doors. I was able to see this by shining a light down the center vents and watch for operation. They work fine and it leads me to believe there is still the slightest bit of air moving through the upper vents even when you select floor.
