I just got my new 2008 Acadia last week, but ive noticed that if I have the heat on and I am at a stop light, or stop sign I can smell the car exhaust in my truck. It is actually overwhelming and I have to open my windows to air it out. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.

I have never smelled exhaust, but the first dozen or so times I ran the heater it did stink. I think it has something to do with being new. Are you 100% sure it is exhaust? If so, take it in right away. If it is just stinky, then my guess is that it will go away.

Could you be filtering the air from outside through your heater? Maybe make sure you are just filtering the air from inside the cabin.

Don't vehicles bring in some outside air when the heat is on? If you are at a light, sounds like you are getting exhaust from other idling cars.

The heat and ventilation systems bring in some outside air to prevent the possibility of carbon monoxide poisoning. Even in the recirculation mode some out side air is brought in.
