  1. Seat Fwd/Back issues

    Interior and Electrical
Yeah, that little part breaks and I need that whole assembly. Boo hiss  Based on my searches it seems to be an issue throughout the GM lineup. Some crafty DIY'ers have come up with solutions for some of the pickup seats, but haven't seen any for this one. Don't want to...
  2. Seat Fwd/Back issues

    Interior and Electrical
On our 2007, one side of the driver seat stopped moving relative to the other when the fwd/back motor is activated. I had the thing in the shop for some other stuff, so they pulled the seat and said the cable from the motor is broken. The fix according to GM is a new seat track mechanism at over...
  3. How To: Replace a TEHCM (TCM) Transmission Module (P0752)

    Engine & Drivetrain
Those look right. I would've preferred to replace them.
  4. How To: Replace a TEHCM (TCM) Transmission Module (P0752)

    Engine & Drivetrain
I sometimes search those forums when I'm looking for something. So far I only post here. Would be much more convenient if it was one board.
  5. How To: Replace a TEHCM (TCM) Transmission Module (P0752)

    Engine & Drivetrain
What you need 1. Dorman TEHCM (part 609-000) – I bought it at Summit Racing for $289 including shipping. They also take a $300 core charge which is returned when you send back your old TEHCM. Whoever you order the part from will need your VIN to ensure it is programmed properly for your vehicle...
  6. How To: Replace a TEHCM (TCM) Transmission Module (P0752)

    Engine & Drivetrain
So, you thought your transmission woes were over. GM rebuilt your transmission after the infamous wave plate failure and you figured you were good for another 100K. Wrong, suddenly you have the familiar check engine light and transmission won't shift past 2nd gear. Ahhhhh. You'll have another...
  7. TCM Replacement (DIY?)

    Engine & Drivetrain
I guess it was the computer having to learn. I drove it last night and to work today and everything seems fine ... at least as far as the transmission goes. Stupid thing had a check airbag light come on. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Time for more research
  8. TCM Replacement (DIY?)

    Engine & Drivetrain
Dorman suggests I drive it more and see if it improves. I'll drive it a little more tonight. If still no improvement I'll disconnect the battery overnight and see what happens in the AM.
  9. TCM Replacement (DIY?)

    Engine & Drivetrain
It's shifting slowly, for lack of better description. Shifts rev then slowly catch. So ... opposite of rough.
  10. TCM Replacement (DIY?)

    Engine & Drivetrain
So, here's the one I took out. Definitely bad, two of these switches are broken.
  11. TCM Replacement (DIY?)

    Engine & Drivetrain
Not entirely surprising, but no help from GM. The dealer still wanted more than I want to pay so the car is back in my driveway. I ordered the Dorman rebuilt TEHCM (part number 609-000) and it arrived today ($300 from Summit Racing + $300 core charge). I also ordered a subscription to...
  12. TCM Replacement (DIY?)

    Engine & Drivetrain
Had the transmission rebuilt in November of 2013, almost 30K miles. From what I can tell a lot seem to fail quicker than that after the waveplate, so I might be hosed based on time. It finally happened again and it is back in the dealer with P0989 and P0752 codes. So, time to start working to...
  13. TCM Replacement (DIY?)

    Engine & Drivetrain
Thanks. Following that thread and digging deeper I see that some people have had GM foot the bill for the 2nd repair also. I think I'm going to persue that before I decide to go the DIY route. I will go DIY before paying another $1400 though.
  14. no sound from radio or turn signals

Problems, Recalls, TSBs, FAQs & Links
I found this thread looking for the reason the stereo and turn signal indications didn't work. Both the rear door connectors were completely full of water. I shook the water out and things seem to be working for now. I'll replace the amp if it doesn't stay working.
  15. 2007 Transmission failures

    Engine & Drivetrain
It took a few weeks, but my transmission is fixed. They rebuilt it. I had to have it towed from the shop to the dealer and wait for their transmission guy. But, ultimately GM took good care of me. Thanks Jessica for the help.
  16. 2007 Transmission failures

    Engine & Drivetrain
Thanks for the empathy. I wouldn't be contacting GMC if I didn't feel this problem is basically the same as the timing chain problem. I can live with the fact that maybe the previous owner was tough on the car or just bad luck, but frankly I think mine lasted longer than most. The funny (ironic)...
  17. 2007 Transmission failures

    Engine & Drivetrain
Looks like it's my turn. My 2007 with 93K started off with input speed sensor codes. They cleared themselves and the thing drove fine for another couple weeks. Now it's done. Took it by the local dealer and they said their transmission guy was backed up and they wouldn't be able to look at it...
  18. 2007 Acadia FWD

    GMC Acadia
I just took my '07, with similar mileage, in today for the same thing. They have already diagnosed it as the stretched cam chain and are replacing it under the warranty. I do have a question for others who have had this problem. They said they didn't have to pull the engine for it. Everything...
