  1. NEVER AGAIN BIG BIG MISTAKE

    GMC Acadia
Yes we did. I had checked on other warranties and most still do not cover all the "little things" like a radio, A/C coil, and certain cooling system and suspension issues. Plus, I checked ahead knowing the dealer would offer some Zurick, GMEPP, or other warranty for more money than what the...
  2. Shift to Park message

    General Tech
Thank you. We currently have a 2 year factory warranty bumper to bumper extension right from GM. So it covers just like the 3 year 36,000 warranty. But I plan on keeping the Acadia longer so may go with another when the factory warranty is up. We only put maybe 8K to 10K miles a year on the Acadia.
  3. Shift to Park message

    General Tech
Who did you get your extended warranty from and who is the provider?
  4. Oil Filter Relocation

    DIY, Aftermarket/Upgrades
The 2013 to 2017 Equinox V6 was the worst for oil filter changes that I've had in years. Right near the lower exhaust connector pipe off the manifold and crammed into within less than an inch of the back of the radiator as well as trans cooler tubes and other stuff on both sides. Nearly no room...
  5. NEVER AGAIN BIG BIG MISTAKE

    GMC Acadia
I hope that shift to park issue has been resolved on 2019s. You'd think they installed any updated shifter at the factory by now. Oh well .. we have a 5 year 60,000 mile factory warranty. GM is now selling a 2 year extension on GM vehicles factory bumper to bumper warranty at time of sale.
  6. New GMC Acadia Owner and New to this Site

    New Member Section
Hello . . welcome and will be nice to see more comments and insights form a new owner. Like that color. We were undecided on color and wife and I "drew straws". lol
  7. 2017 Acadia Electrical Issues

    Interior and Electrical
Wow. . unusual to have that many problems.
  8. '17 Acadia paint correction

    Washing & Detailing
Amazing results. . . wish I had the time and patience to do the same. But happy with a good claying, polish-sealant- was job. When I look at other cars on the road or even neighbors, I can not believe most do not even do any basic paint finish care.
  9. Lift Kit for Acadia

    DIY, Aftermarket/Upgrades
    I tried "lifting" our Acadia. . . . I found using a jack was better. 😁
  10. 2017+ Acadia LED bulbs

    Interior and Electrical
We have aftermarket LED headlights in all 3 of our current vehicles. All are using Sealight LED bulbs. I find them to be a very good company and the LEDs are much better than the stock halogen bulbs. Also, Sealight is one of a few companies that make the 9012 LED for Acadia Low Beam bulbs that...
  11. 2020 Acadia-mid-cycle refresh

    Articles, Reviews & Multimedia
Except in the example above, the final drive ratios that is shows for the 2.5L and 3.6L engines are reversed. The 3.6L engine gets the 3.16 drive ratio. Don't know why, but many GM publications of this info is incorrect. And it makes sense that the 2.5L would get the higher gear ratio of 3.87 so...
  12. 2017 Acadia Transmission Cooler

    Towing & Hauling
Based on the cost for the upgrade for the HD cooling system you've done, the $650 for the OEM towing package is a pretty good deal then, which also includes installation, the hitch, wiring and more. Almost wish I had looked a bit more for an SLT-1 with towing. But the deal was so good on ours...
  13. 2017 Acadia Transmission Cooler

    Towing & Hauling
Just as a point of reference - - - Our 2019 Acadia V6 FWD transmission fluid seems to run around 170F to 192F after driving and warming up so far this summer. I was surprised it ran even that high when compared to my 2017 Colorado with the 8L45 8 speed transmission which typically runs 125F to...
  14. 2020 Acadia-mid-cycle refresh

    Articles, Reviews & Multimedia
All the more reason i am glad we got a 2019 Acadia. No push button shift select and no Stop/Start to deal with. And, they only have one SLT trim level now which makes a prospective buyer pay for things they may not want.
  15. 2020 Acadia-mid-cycle refresh

    Articles, Reviews & Multimedia
A lot has to do with wind/weather, terrain/hills, traffic and how well a steady speed can be maintained. My 2017 Colorado CCSB 2WD truck with the LGZ version of the LGX V6 gets me at least 25 MPG and often between 26 and 27 MPG (65 to 70 MPH) on 330 mile trips I've made regularly on the same...
  16. 2020 Acadia-mid-cycle refresh

    Articles, Reviews & Multimedia
I I wouldn't put too much stock in comparing the Traverse and Acadia MPG. Maybe .. maybe not the same. We ( in our 2019 Acadia V6) have been getting 22 MPG or more in mixed town and some rural driving. On a few highway trips of 100 to 150 miles, we have gotten 27 MPG (70 to 75 MPH) worst...
  17. Lift Kit for Acadia

    DIY, Aftermarket/Upgrades
Impractical and unnecessary expense for most to build a new garage. Plus, doesn't resolve the parking issue for wives who do not like handling a behemoth SUV. It's all just choice anyway and no right or wrong. Nothing to criticize or mock anyone about.
  18. 2013 rear lift gate control arm broke twice

    GMC Acadia
Maybe look closely at the ball studs that the control arm attaches too. If one is bent or damaged it could put stress on the coupling end of the arm. Where exactly did the control arm break? A picture or two would help.
  19. Lift Kit for Acadia

    DIY, Aftermarket/Upgrades
Well .. . there is quite a difference in standard Tahoe and ( New +2017) Acadia dimensions. The Tahoe is 10" longer and 6" wider. While a very nice SUV, too it leaves much less space to get around it in my new 2 car garage. Wife would have difficulty parking it no matter where. Just choices...
  20. Lift Kit for Acadia

    DIY, Aftermarket/Upgrades
I just don't want to try and fit a giant SUV into my garage and still have space around it. I watched my brother back his into his 2.5 car garage and it is a "process".
