Is 13 mpg normal?

Hello. My first daily fuel up was 19 gallons with a driving range of 254 miles. This is daily driving for me. Is 13mpg normal? My 03 superduty gets better mpg and its 9k pounds...lol

Main reason I got rid of my '11 was because it was averaging 14 mpg. Love my '18 averaging 20-21. 30+ on the highway.

What were your driving conditions during the use of your first tank of gas?

Nothing dramatic. Mainly flat roads with a few big hills here and there. Not much as far as bad weather. Nothing that puts stress on the engine or transmission

What about traffic - stop & go conditions, lane darting, and jack-rabbit starts?

You need to type the year, model, and any other germane specifics on the vehicle about which you are typing.

Plus, you need to go through at least 3 tanks of gas(full each time) before calculating mpg.

Post in another thread mentions a 2007 FWD. It would help if the member added that info to their profile signature.

I have the same experience as divotdug, my 2011 barely got over 200 miles on a tank of gas. We are very conservative drivers. Just traded to a 2017 and now I'm getting around 20MPG. Much better!

I hate to break it to everyone, but I average about 19 mpg in the 'burbs during warm weather and about 17 in winter months when I use remote start more frequently. Been that way since I bought the car in 2007. I'm convinced by what others say that GDI engines suck!

Around town I probably average around 16.5. I would call myself a moderate pressure on the peddle driver. My wife accelerates hard and brakes hard. I like smooth on all departments. I watch ahead and let off the gas when it is obvious I am going to have to stop.
