Need some advice

Hi!

I recently bought a 2009 GMC Acadia. It does not have an automatic lift-gate, back up camera or a DVD player- all features I want for my new vehicle.

I DO have another Acadia-2010 that has an automatic lift-gate and back up camera that I bought wrecked.

What is needed/can I do to exchange lift-gates and also add the back up camera and make them work properly? Any advice?

I bought the DVD player and mount also online and understand I’ll have to pull the light out as well as cut the hole a little bigger and was hoping for some advice on that as well!

Thank you so much

:welcome: to the forum.

The main concern with swapping parts like that is whether or not wiring for the added features exists in the main harness. You won't know that until you start removing parts for the swap. The build is so early in production that wires and connectors might exist in the harness. Once things are installed, you'll need to find someone capable of reprogramming the BCM to accommodate operation of the new liftgate. Good luck.

Look through the forum for posts by other members who have done what you want to do with respect to the DVD and backup camera. Use the forum's 'VB search' tool and good keywords to find those threads. I'm sure you'll find many posts about it. ;)

And, :welcome: to the forum.

Something to note: The power liftgate is equipped with stress sensors to monitor its operation. It will also be necessary to swap those, and associated wires, in order to make the liftgate work properly
