Start/stop technology

Do the V6 Acadia's have the start stop technology? I haven't noticed mine shutting off while stopped in traffic.

Not yet. I think they'll have it in the next few years, though. It's only available on the 4-cylinder models right now.
Colt Hero likes this.

Does the Traverse have an override to turn it off with each start?

I rented a Caddy XT5 last year and was surprised to find there was no override.

There is no overide on the Traverse, except if you shift it to low and use the + to shift it into the highest gear. It will shift normally with no
start/stop.

So does the Cadillac XT5 with a V-6 - same platform as the new Acadia.

That is an XTS An "S" often looks like a "5".

I think it is also the new platform for the resurrected Chevy Blazer. I rented an XT5 a couple of years ago and it did have the auto shut off.

Be careful about what you ask for. It can be a very annoying technology. I live with it on one of my other cars, where the manufacturer refers to it as ... Auto Stop Start... It's acronym is well deserved from my experience.

Preparing for my next vehicle and reading reviews for the Traverse, they (can't remember who "they" was) said the Traverse has the most smooth and seamless AS-S of just about all the vehicles out there. My Son has the Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and you can actually hear the engine crank when he take his foot off the brake. Only good thing is it does have a button to shut the system off but you have to push the button every time you restart the vehicle.
