Re: Cabin air filter

Hello there, at least you have the tray to put a filter in it, I purchased the air cabin filter for my Acadia 2009 SLT2 with the shocking surprise that there is no even a tray or access to it on my vehicle, I just wonder what GMC is going to tell me when I contact them ??

There was a time that GM had stopped putting the cabin air filter in some of the Enclaves, Acadias, Traverse's, and Outlooks. My 2010 Traverse did not come with the filter, nor the removable cover to put one in. GM began once again putting the filters in, so I think it was the 2009 and 2010 models that did not come with one.

I had done some checking around, and actually ended up cutting the plastic door open and installed the cabin air filter. I posted a DIY step by step with pictures over on the Traverse board. It shows how to do it, and what parts are needed. A lot of other owner's ended up doing the same thing.

Hey Acadia Freak,

I have a 2009 Acadia SLT2 that GM built without a cabin air filter. To my surprise, the cover plate is secured by a single screw at the top and there are no clips to squeeze. Can you send me the step by step installation instructions? I couldn't find the info from your earlier post on the Traverse Form website.

Thanks!

@otter, that member hasn't been on the forum for nearly 2 years. I searched the 'net and found a fresh direct link to his post on the Traverse forum. Try this: https://www.traverseforum.com/41-diy...ir-filter.html (You'll probably have to join the Traverse forum in order to see the pictures.)
