Roof Rack Removal - 2018 Acadia SLT

Hello, has anyone removed their roof racks? I will never use them and would like to remove to help save on gas mileage. Would be nice to have some sort of cover to go over the holes. It's a 2018 Acadia SLT.

I've seen several pictures of Acadias with roof racks removed. Owners have spent a lot of time/money sealing the mount points and blending them in with the rest of the roof. I believe your stated motivation for doing so is as ridiculous as eliminating hood ornaments, though. It doesn't save anything with respect to fuel economy. JMHO I'd be a believer if someone would show hard statistics proving that it does.

I agree. Doubt there would be very little, if any, fuel saving from removing the racks.

I have an '18 and find the MPG perfectly acceptable.

I suspect the business case would not support the activity over the life of the car. If you like the look, just do it. ..... You can always rent a truck at Home Depot to haul home that 2 x 4 x 8 you bought. ;-)

The idea of removing the roof rack never occurred to me. Isn't that part of what makes it a sport Utility vehicle? I hope GM never cheaps out and omits them completely.
