Largest 20" tire on a 2019 Acadia Denali?

OK, guys and gals, I am looking for some proof or some real life experience. I just bought a 2019 Acadia Denali and, like all of my vehicles, I hate the factory tires. I am trying to figure out what is the best all terrain tire that will fit on my Acadia. I don't off road in my wife's vehicle, (I have a lifted 2500 Denali for that), but I do want to have the looks and the drivability that an all terrain gives.

Looking at tire calculators, the 265/50-r20 is .2" taller and about1" wider. I know that tire manufacturers size their own tires, but I'm trying to see if this is possible.

So, if anyone has put bigger tires on their 2017-2019 Acadia, please post pics!!!

Pics are the way to go!

Thank you in advance.

If you have done this before, the I would expect that you already know that the larger tire reduces fuel economy.

Pictures of tires on somebody's car are as boring as pictures of someone's meal.

Well, if it is a delicious looking meal it can make my salivary glands activate.

Which reminds me. We once had a little poodle whose eyes went dry. The vet hooked her salivary glands to the duct to her eyes. When she would smell some good food, she would cry.

I'm considering 255/50R20 when my stock ones are ready to be replaced. Continental doesn't make the DWS06 in the right size and that's the closest match. I'd be interested to see how well the bigger sizes fit.

I am aware of the fuel economy changing, but I am coming from a 2016 Yukon so the fuel mileage issue is negligible. Thank you for the heads up though. Most people in the forums don’t even think about that.

I guess I might have to be the tester on this to see if it can be done. I have googled for all terrain tires on a new body style Acadia and I have come up with a big zero.

I usually find someone that is crazy as me on the forums. I can bounce ideas off of them and come up with my own plan.

If anyone has seen any pics of what I want to do, please post them even if it is not your Acadia.

Thank you

We are a bit limited on wheel sizes but if you wanted to keep close to OEM to avoid any ride, camber or alignment issues>

255/r50-20, 265/r45-20 these sizes or more of a all season/street tire.

If you wanted to do an AT tire, than you have to drop to a 17" or 18" wheel to account for the larger sidewall. The 2020 Acadia AT4 looks pretty good with the AT wheel/tire package.

I can go to a 265/50-20 tire on that wheel. It is .3” taller, which is not an issue, but it is 1.25” wider. That is where I am having an issue. Everything SHOULD clear with a little trimming on the shock cover on the rear end, but I really want to hear if anyone has done anything like this before.

I kinda feel like the teacher in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

Bueller.........Bueller.........Bueller

Maybe I just have to have the courage to just jump off and try it. I know the Acadia will look AMAZING with some AT tires, but we will see.

Thank you to those who have responded, and to those who have not, whatcha waiting for?!?! I know that some of y’all have to be thinking that I am an idiot for even looking at this. Tell me that. Give me a for or against. Let’s have a little fun. It is only a car, and who knows, I might just come up with something super cool.

@Frogman32, don't patronize our forum members. Do what you want and tell everyone about what you did. Show your pictures and be done with it.

How in the world would you come to the conclusion that I am patronizing anyone? I am wanting opinions. Whether or not you agree with me, I just want to know what people think.

I live in a small community so there are not many people who modify their vehicles. The forums have always been a great tool to come up with great ideas and shoot down the bad ones. I believe in listening to what others think and have done, then basing my opinions and actions on my own ideas tempered with the thoughts of others. I know I am not the smartest person or have the best ideas, so I try to use the experiences of others.

So if that is patronizing others, then I am guilty. If you want to kick me off the forum, then do so. If not, then I kindly ask for your experiences and opinions.

Thank you.
