Clicking Noise When Turning

I just recently noticed my 2018 Acadia SLE-2 FWD is making a clicking noise when turning at low speed, both left and right turns.
I'm thinking it's the CV joints but the car only has 8,500 miles on it so I'm kind of dumbfounded as to what it could be.
I'll be taking it to the dealer next week to get it looked at but in the meantime has anyone else experienced this issue with the redesigned model?

I wonder if what you're hearing is the electric power-steering assist motor. From what I've read, it's a rack-mounted system. Maybe something there is clicking. Please let us know the outcome of your visit to the service center.

Go figure. I got the "we can't duplicate the sound" response. I asked how far did you drive it? He couldn't even tell me. So I told them to drive it more than a few feet and call me back when they've found the problem. I'll be taking one of their mechanics for a joy ride if I have to go back up there and the problem isn't solved. Fingers crossed.

All fixed! Turns out it was the heat shield. The heat shield would get dislodged somehow after driving the car about 15-20 minutes which caused a "clicking" sound when turning.
I'm picking the vehicle up tonight. I'm glad it wasn't anything more serious that would have taken more time, I really hate the Envision loaner that I'm driving.

So apparently it wasn't the heat shield and the very next day the sounds came back but much worse. So it's at the shop again and they called this morning to tell me that there is a service bulletin regarding dirty brake parts? So they are removing the wheels and cleaning the calipers and rotors. I've never heard of such a thing. Anyways, I'm going back up there tonight to pick it up. This better be the end of it. I'm getting sick of going back up there and being lied to. Does GM monitor these forums at all?

Ahh, sounds like mine. 2017 Acadia Denali. Except at 8,500 miles I had the brakes scraped as you mentioned above (I was given an info sheet from the dealer about this issue) as well as the motor mounts, transmission mounts and CV joints replaced. The noise was only heard when turning Left. In Feb 2018 I went back in for a different noise and it was the CV Boots this time in which they used a lubricant on them to stop the noise. Now, I have 28,000 miles on it and the original noise is back. I am unable to hear the noise today (appt is tomorrow) and do not want the 'can not replicate noise' so I am going to cancel the appointment.

I am very disappointed in the vehicle. For the price I purchased it at May 2017, I wouldn't have expected to have all that work done by September of 2017.

I do not think GM monitors the forums. I have though looked into the "Lemon Law" in my state. GM has had 3 chances to fix this issue, why I am going to be responsible for the fix when my warranty is done? Its been documented from the 5 month point, over and over.

Well, not a club I wanted to belong to but my 2019 Acadia Denali (2145 miles) is making clicking noises when turning right or left. My wife told me about it at 1700 miles but couldn't get it to make the noise again and it now does it every turn. Taking into the shop and wanted to find a "fix" for it but everyone is all over the place with how they solved the problem.

Did you ever get it solved???\

Yes, my issue was resolved. I was told that there was a service advisory that dirty calipers and rotors were causing a clicking noise. I'm not sure if I believe that but whatever they did during my last visit fixed the issue. I can't confirm that you are having the same issue. All I can say is I hope you have lots of patience. I had to make multiple trips to my dealer and a few different drives with a tech in the car to hear the noise.

YIKES! A bad half-axle on a brand new vehicle with only 200 miles??? That's unheard of!

Even if the boot was cracked (highly unlikely) - it wouldn't have failed *that* fast. Was either a bad joint right from the factory, or damaged at the dealership.

When you bought the vehicle new, are you saying it had around 200 miles on the clock ... because a lot can happen in 200 miles.

I'm not sure what a clock is, but the vehicle was clicking and popping when I test drove the car with 40 miles on it. I just didn't know what it was at the time. It progressively got worse until I brought it into the dealer around 160 miles or so. After the fixed the axle, the clicking and pops went away. Well, until the back one started doing thing similar.

I'm experiencing the same thing with my 2009 GMC Acadia. The clacking noise when you turn to the left..it sometime clacked, and rattled. It started lastnight after running it through the carwash, but I assumed it was just wet, since I purchased the around and under wash. I noticed that my alert messager came on stating to "Service Tire Monitor System", go figure...I will be setting an appointment for it and will keep you guys posted as well.
