Thanks in advance...

A page example would be nice before spending $12 on something sight unseen; not that $12 is a lot  Grin

There is a "seller" contact on the site.  I bet he would provide you any information you requested regarding the file download.

What year, make and model?

Updating your signature with vehicle details makes it easier to assist you.

Assuming you have an 07-09 GMC Acadia, and it is the drivers side, it is part # 25954938 shipped for $144.03 from GM Parts direct. If it is a different Make/Model or year or Passenger side, check GMpartsdirect.com.

Are there some interior panels that have to come off to change these tail light assemblies? I could see cracking the plastic panels if one was'nt careful. If they have to come off I would suggest doing it when it is in a warm environment---cold and plastic=CRACK. Please post your removal and install.

coolsun20....Did you get into a wreck?.....You asked about the tail light on the trunk lid.....I assume you have an Acadia and that you are talking about the rear spoiler that has the 3rd brake light assembly. I believe to access this light you have to remove the spoiler. If you open the rear gate up top on the gate you will find a series of screws to remove and the whole spoiler will come off after you unplug the wire. Then you have some of the plastic push pins holding two halves together. Be sure to have some soft towels handy to lay this on or you will scratch it.
Good Luck! and take some pics to post.....

You have to remove the whole inside of the back cover.  Search for the post on back-up camera install and it will tell you how to do that.  Not too hard.  Maybe you can even just undo the passengar side and "sneek" between a little space and get in there.  Only a few nuts holding it in place, don't remember the wiring, but shouldn't be too hard.

The part number I listed above should be what you are looking for.

Here is a writeup I did on installing a backup camera. This has instructions and photos for removing the back interior panel on the liftgate. http://www.acadiaforum.net/forum/index.php?topic=2968.0

If you are interested in getting a backup camera, then you may want to cosider doing this install the same time as when you change out your light (this of course is assuming you don't already have the factory Nav or other backup camera system, but one might already know this if you would update your signature line with vehicle specific details.  Poke  wink )

Great write up on the back-up cam bonk  thumbs up, that's the 1st time I've read it. Does the back up monitor  in the car take up much room on the dash?

 Off Topic
it can be mounted several ways with that kit. It comes with a HVAC Vent mount, or a double stick plastic mount (sucks) or an elastic velcro strap that can be attached to the visor.

I obtained a GPS windshield mount, and modified to attach the Camera screen to it. The screen is the same size as a GPS unit, so not bad at all.

The screen is to the left of the Rear View mirror in this photo, I have since moved it to the right side, but you get the idea.
