I emailed Sylvania to find out what size headlamps are need for my 2008 Acadia.  They emailed me back model numbers for all the bulbs in the Acadia.  I would assume this would apply to all years, but I asked for model year 2008.  Hope this helps.

I'm a little confused.  Does the Acadia take three headlight bulbs, high-beam, low-beam and daytime running?

The 3157 DRL bulb would only apply to HID equipped Acadias.  Non-HID versions use the H11 low beam as DRLs.

The other day i saw an Acadia with one DRL out.  I was going to stop the driver and tell them about it, but by the time I could do that the light was back on!!  Don't know if it remains that way.  It might be a simple thing like a loose connector and a well-placed bump in the road repaired the problem!!

Whoa! That sounds like under my passenger seat where the airbag connector comes loose every once in awhile. I'll go look for a rocky back road and see if I can fix that light.  Grin

Definitely some nice stuff at the Sylvania site rbarrios. If that rocky road doesn't work I may revisit it.  thumbs up

I read yesterday that the bulb was covered by the 3/36 warranty. Do an all forum search for headlight replacement.

rbarrios - Could you see a big difference with the Silverstar over the stock bulb?  The stock non HID headlight does a very good job so am just curious.

I like the light that the silverstar puts out... IS it HID? no.
does it look better than the yellow halogen- yes.
Im just not interested in the aftermarket HID's that simply shine light all over the place- blinding oncoming drivers.....

Silverstars...
I used them all the time in my 2003 Trailblazer. (on the trailblazers they were known for lasting less than a year).
But- I bought mine on ebay- and always carried a spare set.- and I didnt want to go the route of the aftermarket HID.....
as soon as Sylvania confirmed that the H11 was out- I popped them in my 2010 Traverse and my 2007 Impala.
I just like thats its a whiter light..... for me- the lights is also a little more concentrated.
the vehicle headlights look good too when the light is white- and not yellowish (my personnal opinion).

But some people just like HID.
I prefer to use Silverstars since theres no hacking of parts involved.
When I installed the lights--- it was sundown- and the sun was behind me-- the pics below sort of show the difference in the silverstar and factory light.... the whiteness was not as apparent because of the yellowing from sundown.
Hopefully you can see a difference in the pics- I can tell-- everynight when I pull in-- my fence is white- and I can see it look whitish blue-- and not yellowish...
the images are--- the new H11 and the cover removed.
the factory bulb on the left and silverstar on the right- low beams.
factory high+low on the left---- on the right are silverstar HIGH+LOW beam bulbs....

Right you are. Having it replaced Friday morning, combined with an oil change. The 3/36 is kicking in, so I'll take what they give me, though I'm a bit curious.

That Acadia may have had HID headlights. When the DRL are on if you use the turn signal that side DRL will go out. GM design.

Has anyone upgraded the high beam headlight to the Sylvania Silverstar 9005SU (Silverstar ULTRA)??  If so did you notice a difference from the stock bulbs that come from the factory

What about the H11ST's for the lowbeam headlights?Huh?

Anyone replaced the fog lights?Huh?  With what make and model of bulb??

BMWhitesel, search "Silverstar" on the Forum.  You'll find several pages of discussion concerning these bulbs and others.  Search is a great tool that would save you bunches of time waiting for an answer.  wink

After replacing my driving bulb - fairly easily - check this link  http://www.acadiaforum.net/forum/index.php?topic=7005.0.
Began to wonder about swapping out bulbs for Silverstars.  Don't want to do it with the driving lights cause they will burn out too soon.  But I figure for the highs, they should last quite a long time.  Just curious if any one has switched just the highs and kept the lows.  Does it feel/look weird.

I did this on my Silverado about 3 years ago and haven't had one burn out yet.  I switched out the 9005 high beams for SilverStars and it was a significant improvement, IMHO.  It made the H11 low beams look pretty weak and yellow, so about 6 months after that I swapped out the lows for HIDs.   Grin    The projector lenses on the Acadia do a better job with the stock H11 lows than the reflectors in my truck though.
