Got it! Took delivery today on my 2009 SLT-2 (details in my sig., below).
Order date: 8/29/08. The vehicle arrived at the dealership on 10/7/08.
My wife and I (she had to co-sign some of the papers) went to the dealer this morning and left there this afternoon. Lots of stuff to sign and even more for the salesman to explain and demonstrate. An employee drove it to a nearby gas station to fill up the gas tank. When he returned, the odometer showed a grand total of 8 miles on it. I just got home after driving around a bit and then stopping in a parking lot to fool with some knobs and buttons. There are a lot! I'll be reading and re-reading the manual(s) a bunch in the next few days. One nice break -- I got the benefit of a $500 rebate. No explanation, no special name for it, just got it.
So far today has been a very good day.

Congrats Bobbo! I'm glad you're happy with your new car! I can't wait to get my hands on my own. The $500 discount was put into place by GM as an incentive for the '09s as of Oct. 1st, so your timing was opportune!
Have a fun weekend getting to know all the knobs & buttons. If you can, post a picture for us, too!

Congrats here also, link/attach some pictures! Those knobs and buttons are a two year degree worth of study! Fortunately, many here have fought those battles & can help.

Thanks to all of you for your encouraging replies. I do appreciate them.
Adamdc, the salesmen at the dealership where I picked up my Acadia were all surprised it arrived so quickly. They weren't expecting it for another 2 weeks. Whether they were giving me a snowjob, I don't know. I've gathered that different dealerships are on different allotment schedules, and of course their distance from Lansing would also make a difference. Maybe some other members here will chip in with their wait times.

I give the credit to member Don Willems. He is obviously putting forum member's vehicles at the front of the assembly line! My order/delivery dates are in my signature as well as my 1K page "Took the plunge" thread. In the event my signature changes, they are: ordered 8-7, built 8-25, arrived in freight yard 9-9, and took delivery 9-17. Dealer was in no hurry to deliver it.

Bobbo,
I placed my order on Aug. 30th, and it was delivered to the dealer (West coast, Calif) in 25 days. I was very surprised since most dealers were quoting 6-8 weeks.

I may have already said this in another thread, but my dealership expected it to take 8-12 weeks. I'm not sure my patience would have held out that long. But maybe their estimate was an example of c-m-a.

I'm trying to be patient myself----I ordered mine on 9/22 and I was told that my build date was yesterday, 10/27. I'm already at 5 weeks. Hopefully I'll have it by Nov. 15 or so.
I actually wouldn't mind so much except my wife is very impatient.

I picked my new 2009 Acadia up last week with 7 miles on the odometer. (It had 3 miles on the odometer when it came off the delivery truck; the balance occurred for service.) Delivered in perfect condition! 2009 Acadia, AWD SLT-2, Quicksilver with brick interior HID lamps Head-up display 2nd row console Navigation radio Trailering package $130 below invoice! Plus, the $500 incentive. Order date to delivery: 6 weeks! After just about 300 miles driving on windy mountain roads, the average mpg reached 20 mpg. It's an excellent vehicle - the head-up display is spectacular!

N-Skier,
Congrats on your new SLT-2. Wow, your mpg is good "right out of the box". For almost a year (pre-order) I struggled with whether or not to buy the AWD. Had the new D.I. engine been available back then, the improved MPG may have influenced my decision. But, I finally realized that I just didn't need the AWD often enough. It sound like you're ready to take a road trip & go enjoy that thing! I also have learned to like my HUD a lot.

Thanks, Smooth! I went with the AWD because I live in snow country - ice and snow are not uncommon on our narrow windy highways. The FWD with the stability control would probably have been great as well, but I wanted a vehicle with maximum control under winter conditions. The Acadia's going to be my ski car every weekend this winter! It should be a blast to see the Head-up display through the snow flakes this winter. Since I don't use the vehicle for commuting or routine errands around town (12-minute walk to work or 6 minute bike; I've got nearly 40 k miles on my bike over the past 11 years!), the highway mileage is what I'm looking for in my Acadia. The 20 mpg after only about 300 miles of use is very encouraging. After reading about the direct injection engine for 2009, I waited for the 2009 (prices and rebates on the 2008 were very enticing - making the wait VERY difficult). Congrats on your Acadia as well.

What a great ski vehicle this will make! It's actually "fun" to drive, and when you combine that with something else that's fun, it's like the daily double. Comfortable. Lots of gadgets. Roomy. And ready for the white stuff. Congrats!
