I was going to post this in a existing thread but was notified that the thread was old and to start a new topic. So here it is with the addition of picture and text meanings.

Retired from Chicago to SC in 2004, Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.

I'll give it a try.  Grin

Speleos - it's all about caves. Started exploring, mapping, and studying caves 50 years ago next February. Been the first person to put footprints in underground passages no one had ever seen before.

Avatar is the West Virginia Mountaineer. Earned a degree in geology from WVU in 1979.

The line under my avatar says it all. Be careful with what you believe if you get information solely from the 'net.

My user name means my name is George!!

Long time retired Air Force and business owner.   Engineer by education (BS and MS) but got out of the rat race world when I retired.  Bought a  little Feed & Seed store (Western Feed & Seed, Inc.) and built it into a going business.   Really enjoyed the people.   Sold it in 1998 and totally retired.

I was going to post this in a existing thread but was notified that the thread was old and to start a new topic. ...

FYI, it's OK to ignore that notice and post a new reply.

I thought about posting to that thread but the last post was in 2009. With all the new members joining since then I thought it would be better it start a new thread and include the meaning of your picture and text.

User Name:  I had been in Materials Management in the manufacturing industry for a number of years.   Purchasing, Production, Inventory Control, Shipping/Receiving, Stockroom, etc., were some areas of responsibility in a 250 people company with sales of 40M+.  In addition, having to work with Sales and Engineering, many decisions had to be made.  Many times, we had to weigh/review our objectives and reroute accordingly.  It was like a teeter totter, working with the various departments and weighing the priorities to get things done.   So, that is how I came up with my user name: teetertotter  So many decisions together to benefit the company.

The picture:  It is representative

I retired in 2008 at the age of 65 to get involved in our community to make it a better place.   I keep on growing every day.   Jon

Username---In high school my girlfriend (and subsequently my wife) jokingly referred to me as Wayner-Bayner as a play on my name of Wayne. Other friends and family including my kids have continued to call me "Bayner" to this day some 55 years later. What better name to use for the internet?

Born and raised in Missouri but glad I got the opportunity to move to Texas in the 70's. A Safety Manager for insurance and oil companies and a large county government along with some teaching at the start of my career. Now retired for seven years and pleased to note being retired has been my best job yet.

Years ago before I was active on any websites, I was in the market for a car and had to create a username for eBay.  I was looking at a 1997 Oldsmobile LS with the 3.8 engine, hence my username of LS973800!

I have been retired almost 11 years after working in industry construction.  I was a union Millwright, and worked in many automobile, steel, glass, and other factories through a union hall.

The last 10 years or so of my career I spent a lot of time traveling to various nuclear power plants when they were shut down for refueling.  I worked on many different aspects including the turbines, the refuel floor equipment, and even removing, rebuilding, and replacing the control rod drives which are used to insert or remove the fuel rods from the reactor.  I also worked on the bridge cranes and other equipment used to transfer the fuel rods and remove them or put new ones into the reactor core.

Some of the best times in my geology career were spent looking for the stuff to make those fuel rods.  thumbs up

Nvr2loud - Never too loud!

Reference to my car audio days, long gone now, won tons of contests for both sound quality and loudest decibel readings.

No picture, because it would be a picture of the Audi Logo (my absolute favorite brand of all times) and that does not go well on another brand forum LOL

I don't know why, but I love GMC and hate Chevrolet  shrug and don't even understand it myself. Weird, eh!
