Any idea if caddy will be coming out with an Acadia/Lambda based crossover ??

I love the look of the new CTS - but cant stand the stationwagon look of the SRX !!!

The SRX is their crossover.Unless they restyle the SRX based on the Lambda,I would say not.

That CTS is sure a sweet looking car. May have to go get one to replace our  Mazda. Would be hard to decide what to drive, CTS or Acadia.

the CTS no question about it..... been track tune in the famous Nurburgring race track in Germany along with the upcoming Nissan (Skyline) GTR,  that alone makes it worth a drive, now to schedule for a test drive  thumbs up.... wish the Acadia interior was like that instead of the trucky design  Oh No.

My sources tell me that as of last Thursday, Caddy will discontinue the SRX in M.Y. 2009 and offerthe BRX based on thre CTS platform.
It will be more station wagon-esque such as a BMW 3 series wagon.

I traded my SRX for an Acadia knowing (educatedly guessing) a Caddy Lambda was not in the cards.

IMHO, my 2008 SLT2 with every option in Red Jewel is a superior vehicle to my SRX.

looks to me that the Provoq concept might go into production as a replacement for the SRX. The SRX is a bit dated when compared to current CUVs. With the current styling on the CTS, i think the SRX replacement is well beyond the capability of the Acadia in terms of  ergonomics and design. A vehicle worth waiting IMO.   thumbs up

According to Leftlanenews

" While the details are still very sparse, we can confirm Cadillac will be next in line at the Lambda feeding trough. When the current group of crossover vehicles is totally redesigned around the 2012 or 2013 model year, the Caddy edition will join the mix. ''

"In fact, this wreath and crest CUV may come at the expense of one, or even two, of the current Lambda cars. "

If I had to guess I'd say the Outlook will be dying off and if they get rid of two I hope the Traverse will go. I think the Traverse makes the Acadia and Enclave look cheap for sharing so much.

I think if GM wants volume from the Lambda's, it's going to come from the Chevy channel.  I agree that Outlook makes the most sense as the first "victim", since Saturn seems destined to be the North American Opel.

If they get rid of two, it might be the Acadia as part of a shutdown of GMC.  This would give GM a clear entry/base level (Traverse), mid-level/near-luxury (Enclave), and luxury (Caddy) Lambda.

Disclaimer: this is NOT meant to spark a long and loud discussion on a shutdown of GMC vs. Buick vs. Pontiac, etc.

It seams as if the new caddy would be smaller than the Lambdas, possible on the Vue or CTS platform.

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/GeneralFuture/articleId=126454

If you check out the article it will be a smaller two row CUV, so I don't think any of the Lambdas will be replaced by it.

I think that one may be the replacement for the SRX In the Leftlanenews story it goes on to say that the Lambda caddy could be the replacment to the Escalade.

'' With CAFE requirements looming, this new CUV could very well be the next generation Escalade and signal the death of the current GMT900-based Escalade. Can Lambda handle the task of Cadillacís largest truck? Time may tell. ''
