Hey guys, hate for my first post to be me asking for help...
But my 2007 acadia slt2 is experiencing the amp failure issue and I was wondering if anyone could tell me where it's located at? Searched like crazy and couldn't find the answer.

Under the insulator panel which is to the left of the steering wheel and under the dash board.  Remove that panel which is held in place with the push/pull pins (3) I think.  The amplifier will be to the far left above the parking brake and towards the front of the car.  The amplifier is held in with four screws and the electrical connections.

I can't copy the image or text from the service manual right now for some reason but that's what it says.

ls973800, I don't believe you can link your PC to the forum.  However if you supply the pizza and beer, we'll be right over to look at them!

Sorry, I live in a dry city where beer and wine is not sold except in restaurants.   In fact, this town is so small, there is a waiting list for pizza because of the pre-orders for Super Bowl Sunday.  Nice idea, however.   thumbs up

I know there is a way to copy images and text from my service manual which is an online based service.  Just forgot how to do it right now.

Thanks a lot! Anybody ever try to have the unit repaired? Gmc wants an absurd amount of money for a new one.

I found ONE listed on car-part.com for $125.00.

I'm sure there are more available if you were to search there and contact some of the yards that are listing the radios.

Not sure if anyone has ever had one repaired.  I believe they have always been replaced.

I think you can 'copy and paste' the URL for the particular net-based page into your post.  Just don't know if you'll be violating any copyright laws by doing so.  shrug Beware though, the Net-Fuzz may be watching!!  facepalm

Never thought of that.  Thanks.

I guess I'll have to ask rbarrios to take some pictures and document it on here!  Better than any service manual anyhow!   Cheers

I think we need to talk RB into disassembling his Traverse, laying it out on a labeled mat, and taking pictures of the individual parts.  Then, he could be videoed putting it all back together.  Grin  (kind of reminiscent of an episode of M.A.S.H.!)  Just kidding, rbarrios!

What you mean to say is that you don't have an external amp like the ones in most Acadia's  Grin Grin Grin Grin

If you really had NO amp you wouldn't hear anything  Grin

I think what RB is saying is that he is "Boseless!"  Am I correct?

Heck, you could still take a picture of where it would be if you had one.  Just explain the picture was taken after you removed it!

Just dug into this nightmare. Looks like an electrical connection rattled off of the amp. This car is falling apart on me, so many issues. I'm selling it and going back to vws and never looking back.
