Good luck! Let me know how the installation goes. It took me about 45mins mainly because I was so scared of breaking the plastic console.

Great work!  Can't wait to see the video of the console removal.  That is the part I am really interested in, because as you mention in the video, thats the scary part.

Dave..

P.S. Thanks for doing these videos, I am sure they will help out a lot of people.

Does the whole console and center stack realy need to be removed?

Not sure how easy it would be to just pop the bttom of the top console.

One more thing, do you have to manipulate the box and wires to get it to fit or does it just drop in and down behind stuff??

oopps, one more....did yu get it to go back to normal mode with just one touch of the button?

I had a hard time trying to remove the center stack because I had nothing small enough to pry it apart from the dash without cracking or breaking it.

I didn't have a problem putting the wires back, but the center stack would not fit if I forced the black box in with the wiring. Instead, I packed all the wiring and let the black box hang freely. After the center stack was in place, I placed the small console with the power liftgate/traction control button in front of the black box. There is no rattling or vibration from the box hanging freely.

Yes. To undo the DVD press the mute button 4 times. To undo the address entry/xm categories scrolling press the window lockout switch 1 time. The address entry/xm categories scrolling unlock feature times out after 60 seconds. You will have to repeat the unlock procedure again and after each time you restart the vehicle.

I could have left the connectors attached to the center stack and let it rest below. The very first time I removed it I left all the wires connected and removed only the wires from the nav. It was a very tight maneuver and I scratched the center stack. The second time I remove it to avoid scratching it and for video demo purposes.

rae0506 - Wow, thanks for putting the effort into doing this! Very helpful. If you want, I can host a copy of your video on this server to allow one big file and higher quality. It's totally up to you on whether you want to go through that effort again, but let me know if you do and we'll figure out a way.

Thanks again!

There is no way I would attempt to install the lockpick.  However, I must say rae0568 did a great job in making the video so that anyone who wants to tackle the job has some prior first hand knowledge of how to go about it and what to look for.

Thats what makes this forum so great.  The desire of those members to share their experiences and try to make everyone elses life a little easier.

OK. Finally got the time and weather to install the lockpick.

Few things...

1) You do not have to go through removing the whole console as showninthe video.  I was scared to do it so i found alternate means.  Starting at the top by the storage box insert a flathead screwdriver between the trim and the box.  About an inch to the left of the button and pry it  away.  Grab the trim and do the sameon the right side.  The top should now be popped  out.  Going down both sides  just pulls it away evenly.  The resistance you will feel are the metal tension clips on the trim.

2) The NAV is easy to take out ...4 screws. The wiring is very neatly held b/c  itisa tight space.  Just slide out.

3)  The instructions tell you toreovethe brown and the black.  There are two black wires but it is the farthest one on the unit.  I think it powers the unit b/c the unit powered up and down when  disconnected.

4)  After attaching the cables it is a major byatch to get the unit backin.  a lot of moving around of the wires.

In the end, for me, I got a defective unit. I attached and unattached 4times and the controls never worked for NAV or DVD.  I need to email tvandnavtogo.comto get a replacement.

Overall, it is about a 15minute job if all works.  The worst part is finding space for the wiring harness.

great quality control.  You would think they would check them out and make sure they work before they send them out.  Take the vehicle apart and either put it together and take it apart again or leave everything hanging.  What a pain.

If it was a biggerpain inthe arse to take it apart I wouldhave been fuming.

I finished washing and vaccuming the Passat and was getting ready to put it in the garage. Had to move the Acadia.  I thought I would takea look at it. When I saw the gap at the top I was intrigued.

Put in a screwdriver and voila.  I was planningon doing it Sunday but I ran in like a schoolgirl and got the part.  Was upset it didn;t work but hopefully they willmake amends.  It takes one day to ship to me so hopefully willhave one by Tuesday and I will install in the dark in my driveway or on saturday morning.

Wish it was tested but oh well. I know the name of the company from other car forums and people are satisfied.  It is just me.the problem child always finds me.

Spoke to Dominic over at P&L Elctronics (TVANDNAV2GO).

Amazed it didn't work and apologized.  Said he would get another one out today.

Tried troubleshooting first but there isn't much there.  Switches up and cables are color coded.

Well, I just double checked tonight.

If you put the screwdriver in the top dead center andmoveleft and right you will hit a square block.  Go on topof that block and pryforward from there.  Pops right out.

Had to do it again tonight b/c they wanted me to try a new setting before I shipped it back.  Stilla no go.

Are all your pins in theup position?

Yes, they're all in the up position. Sounds like you have a defective product. I experience the same scenario with the coastaletech product only to find out it was not compatible with the Acadia.
