TPMS- reset- how to video.

This is the reset with the Tire Pressure Monitor system tool.
I changed oil, cleaned the throttle body, and rotated tires.

Ignore the flashing TPMS light on the dash- I got a service Tire Press Mon. System after I kept turning off the ignition several times without comleting the reset----- from me taking multiple 'takes' of the video. The light went away once I completed this video and turned ignition off/on

normally you dont have the flashing light....

Neat - so with that tool you avoid adding or releasing air to each tire during the process?

I've only done the relearn once in four years and probably will never do it again.

I'm much rather deflate a little air and inflate again then spend $77.00 (more likely over $100.00 in Canada) for a tool that will only be used twice a year.

Re: TPMS- reset- how to video.

I reset the TPMS on 4 GM's via the air out/in way.... Im the 'family' mechanic of sorts...

And on our 07 Impala- no matter what-- I could not reset it via the air out method. It would time out. I eventually had to pay the dealer to reset it using their tool.

So for a long time- I did not reset-- but it drove me nuts knowing the TPMS wasnt showing the true position..

So the tool was a bo brainer for me.

The problem is that starting in 2012? or later you CAN'T use the air method.

So you will have to take it to a dealer. I doubt that it will be free. Plus I don't want a dealer to tough my vehicle unless absolutely necessary.
I have not had good luck with my dealer. So I do as much as I can. That's just me. Some people love their dealer and take it to them for every little thing.

Plus I like to help people when I can, so if someone I know needed a relearn I would be happy to help

I agree with this...
Ive scanned Check Engine lights for a bunch of people.
Ive saved them tons of money by telling them what the code is.

just a few of the cars--
Suzuki Aerio
Honda Oddyssey
Mitsubishi Galant
Mazda 3
Tahoe
and I occasionally scan our cars for pending codes.
