Key stuck in ignition

I've had it with GM's crap! I had a chevy trailblazer before this hunk of junk and the exact same thing happened over and over! It means that after 8 years GM is still producing the same garbage. This is the last GM I will ever own. GM you DESERVE to go bankrupt. A new Acadia 6mos old you can't getthe key out of the ignition and all thesindows won't go down. I'm so lucky I leased this garbage vehicle.

Re: Key stuck in ignition

It's a good thing your new vehicle has a B2B warranty for just such issues.

Sounds like a dead battery, calm down and jump start the truck.

Re: Key stuck in ignition

I Googled "key stuck in ignition" and came up with a Ford, Pontiac, Volkswagon, Toyota, Volvo, Isuzu, Hyundai, and Honda.

Looks like you better get a bicycle (without a cable lock)!

Re: Key stuck in ignition

I see this all the time when someone parks up against a curb with the tires at an angle. when you turn the engine off, torque from the tires applies force backwards through the steering causing the steering lock to be heavily tensioned. 99% of the time the trick it to just grab the steering wheel, and turn it in the direction it moves to remove the key.

Re: Key stuck in ignition

Why would a dead battery cause the key to get stuck in the ignition? I don't see the correlation.

Re: Key stuck in ignition

Whatever the reason, it happens. Not the brightest designs to not have a manual release like some other brands.
