3rd row seat problem/issue

I need help. It appears that my 3rd row seat the larger of the two that fold down doesn't want to cooperate. I had it folded down today and pulled it back up into the seating position after we had it folded down for storage of two strollers in the rear. I tried to lower the seat again later in the day by pulling up on the lever up located on the back of the seat and the head rest popped down like it is supposed to however the seat WILL NOT fold down. It seems "stuck". The smaller area next to the seat in question works just fine without any problems or issues. Do these lock or anything? Or is there a mechanisms that may prevent it from folding back down? I checked the owners manual and didn't find anything. Thanks all.

Try pulling back on the seat while you pull up the release and then push the seat forward while still holding the release handle up.

Make sure nothing is under the seat, nice little storage area there till you go to fold it. It will not
work, noticed the other day.

Re: 3rd row seat problem/issue

I tried the pulling the lever to lower the seat and pulling/pushing back on the seat maneuver and it still doesn't fold. I even tried it in different combinations. I also checked to make sure nothing is trapped anywhere that might prevent it from folding and nothing is obstructing the seat. The strange thing is that today when I used the strap to pull the seat back to an upright/seated position I heard the "clicking" noise that locks it into place then I also heard a "thud-like" noise shortly there after while I was still unloading the strollers. I didn't make anything of it until now. I wonder if a spring mechanism or something came loose b/c the headrest folds down immediately but the entire seat won't budge. I also notice that the seats don't line up or are that they are not completely flush with one another but by very little. I'd hate to take it into the dealer if there is simple procedure or fix if not then oh well off to the dealer it goes.

Re: 3rd row seat problem/issue

That's why the dealers are there. You buy from dealers and not over the Internet, so that when the gremlins pop up, you can get it fixed quickly. If you're a good customer, if not an easy fix, they might swap out a working seat for you, so that you might get on your way quickly. I know you live in a tough Chicagotown, but in the immortal words of Coach Sam Wyche, "...this isn't Cleveland". Good luck with your gremlin.

Re: 3rd row seat problem/issue

I wonder if pepper spray will work on the gremlins??

@janaya - looks like you tried everything...I had a similar issue, and turns out I had something stuck under the seat, I only discovered that after I CLEARED the entire area. Maybe you just need to push DOWN on the seat while it's folded down, maybe it's not locked all the way?

Just don't go Postal on it..cars have feelings too!

Re: 3rd row seat problem/issue

With three kids in the vehicle one side of my 3rd row is always up and sometimes both sides are up so my son can put all his crap in the other seat. Never had any problems though with getting the seats to fold down or pull back up.

@janaya3, I have read through the thread. I would have to agree with mjmhere and pr@j; the dealership should get involved with this one. Let me know how it goes.
