2012 Dual-Quad Exhaust Tips vs 2013 No Exhaust Tips

Which do you prefer? I wish they would have left the dual-quad tips on the 2013 instead of removing them. Gives it a more aggressive look - which is what they were going for with the front redesign. The Saturn (which the rear is modeled after) has the dual exhaust, as does the new Enclave and Acadia Denali/Traverse LTZ. Thinking maybe this was cost-cutting measure? Curious if the rear bumpers are interchangeable.....

I was disappointed too when I saw that non-Denali Acadias would lose any sort of chrome/polished exhaust tips. And yeah, they probably did it to save money.

Or they did it to further differentiate the plebeian Acadia vs. the Denali.

On my 2013 I was so pissed to see they went away from the chrome tips, now the more l look at it, its growing on me, they did a good job refining the look of the new bumper its got more of a smooth look to it especially with that brushed aluminum feel vs the chrome strip, even though its all plastic crap it looks very sharp. The most annoying cost cutting move is no power sunshade and no auto up on passenger window.

I totally agree about the auto up on the windows. Our '13 only has Auto down on the driver's side, no auto up. My 1998 base model BMW has auto down on all 4 windows and auto up on both fronts. This is one of the most annoying things I have found on this vehicle......its 2013, the cheapest Kia out there should come w/ auto windows...

There have always been safety concerns about auto-up windows. Yes, there is technology that can be built in so you don't get your head/arm/fingers cut off, but it does add risk. I don't think that's going to be a huge selling point for a new vehicle, so they probably just avoided the risk.

I wont say it would have directed me away from this purchase, but it would have been weighed in if I had thought about it when looking. Its one of those things you dont miss till its gone.... The auto lift gate could be a risk as well, but it was a big selling point. Same basic concept. I just think a $40K SUV should have something like auto windows..

No, they avoided it to extract more money out of the consumer. The 2013 SLT-2 and the Denali have driver's side auto-up. The lower trim levels do not.

I think the 2010 thru 2013 are like that, just a way to make you want to go for the high end models and GM makes more money.
