How do you Disable the Door Chimes?

I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to disable the Driver side rear passenger door chime in my wifes 2010 Acadia. I have been through all the DIC settings, consulted the manual, called the dealer and searched the network and cannot find a way to disable this function. Maybe it's just me and my wife but it drives us crazy every time you open that door and the chime goes off. Is there any way to disable it? Thanks for any assistance you can provide. Nick

Not sure if that can be done. I too looked through everything trying to find a way but could not find anything in the documentation or DIC that would allow you to disable that function.

The dealership told my wife to call On Star to find out how to disable it. I couldn't believe it. How do they not know their own vehicle. I figured if anybody knew it would be somebody on this forum.

Re: How do you Disable the Door Chimes?

Basically what happens is, whenever we open the rear driver side door, a loud chime goes off. There is a setting in the DIC (Door Chime) that allows you to change it from normal to loud. When you open the door and it is set to loud, the horn goes off instead of the chime. It is very irritating. It does not do it on the Passenger side doors. I'm not sure why the came up with this setting but it freakin sucks.

Is the key in the ignition when this happens?

Sounds like it is and maybe the alarm was tripped.

Re: How do you Disable the Door Chimes?

Remove the key from the ignition switch and the chimes won't come on (unless you leave the parking lights on or manually override the automatic headlight control). At least that's how my '09 works.
