Valvoline Dino 5W-30 on sale

I know there are several of us who use this oil. Its returned VERY nice UOA for me- and I believe 2 others on the lambda forums.

But I try to buy it when its on sale. Last time I bought 45 quarts at about $2.40 each (Kmart).
I have not seen that price anymore in a while. Im down to 1 quart of those 45.

I just noticed Oreillys has the quart bottles at $3.49. If you buy 5 you get a $5 Oreillys gift card (mail in rebate).
So if you consider the $5 gift card- the bottles come out to $2.49 each.

Or if you dont want to do the mail in rebate-- then you can head to WALMART.com and buy it online for $16.47 (5qt jug) and pick up free in store-- or have it mailed to you for .97.
@ $16.47 its $3.29 a quart.

Instore price in my area is $15.97 or $3.19 a quart..

Take note that if you buy the individual quart bottles- theyre NOT $3.xx... theyre almost $5 each.

Does this oil comply with GM's new Dexos rating?

Re: Valvoline Dino 5W-30 on sale

this particular dino oil is not dexos licensed.... so 2007-2010 lambda use should be fine.

for 2011s+

From Valvoline site...

4. Do I have to use a dexos licensed product to maintain warranty for my 2011MY GM vehicle?
Federal law prohibits GM from requiring you to use a dexos licensed product to maintain warranty. In the owners manual it specifically states that a "dexos licensed or equivalent" product should be used. In fact GM even allows the use of ILSAC GF-4 or ILSAC GF-5 products in most vehicles if a dexos or dexos equivalent product is not readily available. Corvettes and certain other vehicles which previously required a GM 4718M type oil will require a 4718M type oil or a dexos/dexos equivalent oil.

Re: Valvoline Dino 5W-30 on sale

Glad to see that some of the non-full synthetics are Dexos licensed. That makes the oil change a little less expensive.
